Who We Are

image of brian with community members in the kroo bayThe Kroo Bay Initiative seeks to harness the collective resources and talents of the greater North Texas community to help Kroo Bay in Sierra Leone develop sustainably through empowering local organizations, schools, women and other entrepreneurs on the ground.

Our Goals

An image of woman in seamstress shopWe are supporting the YMCA which has a micro loan program that gives both men and women a chance to support and develop their own businesses. We are supporting the FAWE Primary School because investing in a child's education will not only benefit them long term, but their community as well. Finally, we are partnered with Youth Action International's Center for Women where women are taught computer literacy and marketable skills like hair-dressing and sewing.

Where is the Kroo Bay?

Not only do we hope to benefit the Kroo Bay community, but our own as well. This organization aims to inspire the youth in our community to become leaders who seek to find solutions to issues we face both locally and globally.
